Before a wireless device model is available for sale to the public, it must be tested and certified
to the FCC and IC that it does not exceed the limit established by the government-adopted
requirement for safe exposure under the recommendations of the International Commission on
Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). The tests are performed in positions and locations
(for example, at the ear and worn on the body) as required by the FCC and IC and for each model.
The highest SAR value for each device model when tested for use at the ear is outlined below:
Device 1 g SAR (W/kg)
BlackBerry® 8703e smartphone 1.44
The highest reported SAR value for this BlackBerry device when clipped on a belt, in a Research
In Motion (RIM) approved holster equipped with an integrated belt clip, is outlined below.
Carrying solutions, including RIM approved carrying solutions and carrying solutions not
approved by RIM, that do not come equipped with an integrated belt clip SHOULD NOT be worn
or carried on the body. For more information regarding the wearing or carrying of this BlackBerry
device without using a RIM approved carrying solution equipped with an integrated belt clip,
