Type in Arabic or Russian using SureType technology
You can only perform this task if your keyboard displays Arabic or Russian letters.
1. Press the letter key for each letter in a word until you have typed the entire word.
2. If your device does not recognize the word that you have typed, perform one of the following actions:
To select a highlighted item from the list that appears when you type and continue typing the same word, click the word.
To select a highlighted item from the list that appears when you type and start typing a new word, press the Enter key.
Type in Arabic or Russian using multi-tap
You can only perform this task if your keyboard displays Arabic or Russian letters.
If you have set your typing input method to multi-tap or you are typing a phone number or password, perform one of the following actions:
To type the first letter on a key, press the letter key once.
To type the second letter on a key, press the letter key twice.
Japanese typing input method
About typing in Japanese
Your BlackBerry® device is designed to support five input modes for the Japanese input method: Hiragana, Katakana (full-width or half-width),
and ASCII (full-width or half-width). You can switch between these input modes while you type by pressing the Right Shift key.To type Latin
characters, you can use one of the ASCII input modes.
If the predictive mode is turned on, as you type text, a list of possible predictions appears on the screen. When you select a prediction from the
list, your device also displays a list of predictions for the next word that you might type.
After you convert the word that you have typed to Kanji, if the conversion is not correct, you can change the conversion by changing the
segmentation or selecting a different conversion from the list that appears when you press the Space key.
To facilitate typing long phrases quickly, your device provides the option to select a phrase from a list of common phrases that are divided into
a number of categories, such as business or greeting.
Your device is also designed to support many Japanese symbols. The most common symbols appear in the symbol list on your device. You can
type symbols that do not appear in the symbol list using the character codes that are available at www.blackberry.com/go/jptyping.
Type text in Japanese
1. Start typing in Hiragana or Katakana.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
If your device displays the word that you are typing, click the word in the list that appears when you type.
If your device does not display the word that you are typing, finish typing the word.
3. To convert the text to Kanji, press the Space key.
4. If the conversion for a segment is not correct, perform any of the following actions:
